I have a passion for healthcare innovation, biopharma new product development and navigating the complexity of getting new products/solutions into the hands of patients and healthcare professionals. I also believe that collectively we are only successful if the benefit of this innovation can be experienced in an equitable manner, by the widest appropriate population. This process is complex and becoming more difficult as the healthcare and societal environment changes, especially when combined with the inherent challenges (and opportunities) that come with the introduction of new products. Whilst this isn’t easy, it is fascinating and above all else, there is a lot to do!
Successful innovation and product development of health technologies means translating the scientific foundation/potential of assets and understanding how these can advance care, provide value to patients and support the work of the wider healthcare community. The complexity involved requires a unique blend of specialism and teamwork. With broad experience across commercial and wider strategic roles, together with an understanding of the evidence requirements needed for evidence-based healthcare & access decision-making, I bring a holistic perspective to strategic problem-solving in discovery, development and beyond.
With a strong foundation commercially and as a marketer, I have a strategic planning skill set which means I am able to generate and consolidate insight to formulate strategy and identify the enablers and activity to progress assets through their lifecycle. A key aspect of this is the demonstration & communication of the value innovation delivers – the combination of marketing, HTA and health economic skills, together with experience working across the spectrum of different customer groups, means I understand the activities and inputs that are required to facilitate decision making for treatment and access.
I thrive in environments that have a variety of challenges and are focused on achieving goals, as a result much of the work I have been involved in over the years has been project work, where I have enjoyed leading and working alongside diverse teams and individuals.
